A one-off Rozenburg eggshell porcelain vase painted with two birds amongst cherry blossom. This Art Nouveau ‘pilgrim flask’ was painted by Samuel Schellink, together with W.G. Vonk and J.A. Haafkens and it took them 86 hours ! The vase is 24½ cm (10.21 in) high, 16½ cm (6.5 in)  wide, the base is 14 cm ( 5.5 in) by 6½ cm (2.55 in), the neck is 5½ cm (2.17 in) by 4½ cm (1.77 in). The modelnumber is 184 (incised in the bottom) and marked with the factory stamp and workordernumber 400, painters’ mark and yearcode 1901

The vase was exhibited at the  “Rozenburg. Plateel uit Haagse kringen” exhibition at the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, in 2007 (see last pic)
