A 28cm (11 inch) tall Rozenburg, Den Haag, eggshell porcelain vase painted by Samuel Jacobus de Smit and Aris Knikker, in the week of October 18, 1901. On both sides of the vase an exuberant purple blue magnolia flower and flower buds on the other sides. Particularly beautifully executed painting in shades of green, brown, red-brown, yellow, blue, lilac and purple blue. Marked with the factory stamp, year mark, work order number 1087, painters monogram of S.J. de Smit and blind stamp 89 (model 89p).
